How It All Started

My love for photography began when I was young and curious. My dad—an engineer and relentless tinkerer—had a Canon SLR and a darkroom he built in our attic. I was fascinated by the process, even if I accidentally ruined a few of his prints by barging in with, “Hey Dad, whatcha doin’?”

To stop that from happening again, he did the smart thing: he taught me how it all worked. That curiosity never left me.

A Life Behind the Lens

As I grew older, that old Canon SLR rarely left my side. If I wasn’t taking photos, I was sketching or painting—always trying to create something. In the early 2000s, I picked up a 2MP Fuji point-and-shoot, then graduated to a Rebel XT DSLR. By 2012, I had my trusty Rebel T3i, and that’s when the real adventures began. That camera followed me through road trips, hikes, vacations, and even to work. Photography became more than a hobby—it became an outlet. A way to pause the noise and find stillness. A way to make sense of the world.

Why I Share

Over the years, I’ve realized that one of the things I love just as much as photography… is talking about photography. I genuinely enjoy teaching, sharing stories, and connecting with people over this art form. Whether it’s geeking out over a recent shoot or helping someone understand exposure for the first time, I’m all in. That passion has opened some doors: I’ve exhibited in local galleries and businesses I’ve had work featured by Canon USA on their social media I’ve created videos that were spotlighted by Shutterbug.com And you’ll often find me on YouTube and Instagram, sharing the journey.
